There are some minor rank advancement changes, lots of merit badge requirement changes and a new merit badge called Exploration. For more details go here
7/9/2015 - Rank Requirement changes are planned
There are some major rank advancement requirement changes being planned. While these are still tentative, there is apparently enough support that they are being made public. You may want to review the ranks you have yet to earn and see if it's to your advantage to get them finished this year. Ranks started after January 1 must use the new rules. Ranks in progress may continue to use the current rules so long as they are completed by 2016. For specific changes click here

12/14/2014 - New merit badges announced
Signs, Signals, and Codes and Animation. Both merit badges are expected to be released in early 2015 along with the requirements to earn the badge.

11/6/2013 - Reminder: Cooking MB required
A reminder that Cooking Merit Badge will be required as of January 1, 2014, to obtain the Eagle Scout rank. Regardless of when a Scout earned the Life rank or began working on Eagle, unless he fulfills all the requirements (with the exception of his board of review) before January 1, he must earn the Cooking merit badge to become an Eagle Scout.

11/5/2012 - Eagle Merit Badge changes
Effective Jan 1, 2014, Cooking will become required for the rank of Eagle. This is in addition to all other existing requirements. The number of badges required for Eagle remains the same, just one more on the "required" list. In addition, a new badge called Sustainability becomes an alternative to Environmental Science (must complete one or the other). More details will be coming soon, but you can read more here.

Summit Bechtel Reserve
Home of the 2013 BSA National Scout Jamboree and 2019 World Scout Jamboree has launched their website! For more information on the facility and how to register to participate in the next Jamboree CLICK HERE
2019 Jamboree
The World Scout Conference announced today that The Summit Bechtel Family National Scout Reserve will host the 2019 World Scout Jamboree. That means that for the first time in 52 years, the global Scouting extravaganza will be held in the United States. For more details click here
2010 Commerative Locomotive
The Union Pacific created a special locomotive to celebrate the 100th anniversary of Scouting in the US. The train happened to pass near Hampshire and I was able to get some pictures. click here
2013 Jamboree
The next National Jamboree will be held in Fayette County WV at the newest of BSA's High Adventure Bases. Scheduled to open in 2012 this 10,600 acre property will host many different activities such as the National Scout Jamboree and potentially a World Jamboree in 2019.
